ABOUT US

LUXURY CABIN AT 66 FIELD MOUSE LANE, MAGGIE VALLEY, NC

Come cure your “crazies” in a luxury cabin nestled between the
Blue Ridge Parkway and the Cherokee Indian Reservation at almost 5,000 feet elevation.  Beautiful mountain views from the dining & living rooms, both master bedrooms, and large rec room.  Home boasts over 3,200 square feet of heated space and sleeps 10 comfortably in two king bedrooms, queen bedroom, a den with two twin beds and a futon in the rec room.  Just 1.2 mile gravel road off the main Highway 19 (Soco Road) is well maintained & easily accessible.  Snow can hit fast and unexpectedly, therefore, 4-wheel drive is HIGHLY recommended during the winter months.

We have quite a phenomenon going on right here near the Nut House. There is a herd of 15+ elk which has broken off the main herd in Cataloochee (directions on the attached Places to Visit). They are within just a few miles of the Nut House & have been seen at all times of the day right there at the Blue Ridge Parkway as well as grazing at the Masonic Marker a few miles up the Parkway (which is not open in the winter months). Check out the video (link below) I took last fall just a few miles from The Nut House of a huge 8x8 bull elk! They have been grazing most evenings at the same spot for well over 2 years now and when you reserve the Nut House, we'll give you directions to the special location.
